Monday in Ghana

Today we woke up early and ate some breakfast. The highlight for me was the fresh mango which is currently in season and tastes AMAZING!!!! Then we went for a swim. Both kids are getting very comfortable in the water and it is such a wonderful way for us all to bond.

After our swim we went with Auntie Ebe to Goods for Ghana, which is the home where our children have been living for the past 2 months. It is such a wonderful home!!! We got a tour of their bedrooms and living spaces. We were able to give Auntie Maria a new computer to replace the one that was stolen last month. She was SO EXCITED and GRATEFUL!!! (Thank you Valerie!) We were also able to give the younger children who were not in school all of the school supplies and backpacks that we had collected. They were all so thankful! (Thank you friends!!!) It is obvious that our children were loved very well in that home. For that we will always be so grateful. We also recognize that any child that is ever placed in that home now and in the future will be greatly blessed by the loves that Auntie Maria and Uncle Felix have for them. We look forward to supporting this wonderful home for many years to come.

After our visit to G4G, we enjoyed a lunch of Fufu (dough-like substance made of cassava and yams or plantains), goat stew, fried rice and chicken. Then we stopped by the hospital where Gabriel has been receiving his treatment for malaria over the past several months. We had a consultation with the doctor that admitted him both times and she was able to answer many of our questions. There is so doubt we have much to thank God for in regard to this young man's current health as his malaria condition was extremely severe. Praise God he has not suffered any serious long term complications. It could have been so terrible. He had a blood draw today to confirm that he was doing as well as he seems and it all looked good. So thankful.

We enjoyed the rest of our evening talking, singing, watching movies, doing puzzles and workbooks, and cuddling. With the help of Auntie Ebe, I removed the braids from Debo's hair. They were starting to turn into dreads. Tonight she is sleeping in a new silk cap and looking like a princess as she sleeps. We also enjoyed face-timing with Granny, Nana, Aunt Judy, and some of the Radichii girls. All in all today was a great day!

Thank you so much for your prayers and support. We know that we could not be doing this without each of you.
